Do, do, do, your dirty words Come out to play when you are hurt There are certain things that should be left unsaid
There is a snug comfort in headphones, an engirdling warmth. Ears cuffed away from the world's concerns with only melody to replace her drifting thoughts. It was the girl's misfortune not being able to collect any new books before their unexpected trip and her own damn fault for packing away what novels she had in her luggage. Nothing to occupy her time except Evey's attempts of fatuous discussion. With no heed to the hazards of aural care, Vællin dialed up the volume against her sister's buoyant chatting after her tolerance died out. A steadfast gaze of amber took to the window, outside scenery nothing but a insipid blur. Had she murdered an innocent in her past life, she mused in resentment. Poisoned a child or assassinated a king, whatever crime it was- this had to be her punishment. What else had she done to deserve this. Heaven and Earth, what good would come out of this so-called vacation?
Tick, tick, tick, tick on the watch And life's too short for me to stop Oh, baby, your time is running out I won't let you turn around And tell me now I'm much too proud All you do is fill me up with doubt For the life of her, she had not anticipate on such…uh, lavishness. Out of the parked taxi, half-dragged out by the arm, Vællin was close to gaping at the splendor they would be residing in. Evelyn might've been used to this much luxury in her lifetime but it was enough to make Vællin overwrought. Was it too late to escape in the taxi back home? Fraught eyes caught the escaping rear of the taxi. Damnit. Too late to proceed with her plan, despondence dampened her already sour mood. Hell, at this point she'd would risk hotwiring the next car she saw just to get out of there. Plots of desertion died when her sibling's hand hooked around her forearm, guiding them after the porter with their luggage to their assigned rooms. This promised to be a long visit, she groused internally. This time baby, I'll be bulletproof This time baby, I'll be, bulletproof Being the first of the cast to arrive gave them the time to unpack in peace. Good, Vællin wasn't a fan awkward introductions or befriending outsiders. Thankful to share a suite room with only her sister in the duration of their stay, she had a small form of sanctuary now. To hide in her room throughout the whole ordeal with her laptop and books wasn't such a dreadful idea; in fact, it wouldn't be so unlike her routine at home. Apart from her sister's insistence they get involved with whatever foolishness the show was about, nothing was likely to get Vællin to leave their room. Maybe the summer wouldn't be a waste, after all. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Finished unpacking, the eldest twin capered to her sister's open doorway humming. Unknowns to her, Evelyn had already made a list of activities for them while they were at Costa del Sol. All were primary involved leaving the room, which wasn't Vællin's favorite pasttime. Still, she had to get her sibling out into the world somehow- one way or another.
"While we're here I can teach you how to swim; no more sitting in the shade, using waterguns to scare off people for you. Look at this directory, they have indoor and outdoor pools. How does that sound?"
Silence.
"Are you even listening?"
Nope. Nothing.
"Last week, I borrowed your new coat and got nail polish on it. When you asked if I've seen it, I hid it under the couch."
Nada.
"Right then."
Good talk as any. Hopeless as her cause was, Evey wasn't going to back down that easily. Besides, she had weeks to break down her sister's resistance. For now retreating would be best, what good was it to continue if those damn headphones were drowning out everything. Someday, she was going to take a bat to that device.
Sigh heaved, the girl slugged back to her bed to drop onto her back. Legs kicked the air in frustrated boredom. There were A.A. meetings that had more excitement than she was having in a fancy, grandeur hotel, for pity's sake. Being first out of a dozen participants was mind-numbingly dull. Sniping a glare to her inattentive sister, Evey rolled off the bed to grab her cell and the directory pamphlet. Nothing a little exploring wouldn't cure. Swiping her hair into a simple tail, Evelyn kicked her footwear back on then adamantly marched out the suite.

Sitting within the taxi, Kishan couldn't help but feel contained. He couldn't believe he had let his brotger drag him along, let alone that he hadn't known Ren had applied his name to such a thing. Publicity wasn't his thing, as it should have been with his brother. It was the type of thing they had tried to get away from back home.
His lavender eyes followed a retreating taxi pass by and instantly knew somebody had arrived before them. He groaned inward and let his head fall back against the seat. Perhaps he could find a suitable hiding spot, mostly away from the cameras but moreso the people. People were the main reason he had wanted to shed away his previous life.
Once the vehicle stopped at the front doors, Kishan bolted out of the car like a caged feline and grabbed his bags swiftly before trying to make a swift retreat into the large, temporary, home.
Dhiren, in the otherhand, was anticipating the social interaction. He was more curious about the lives and luxuries of the normal person and more than willing to subjugate himself and his brother to a nationally broacasted show. He followed his brother quickly, grabbing his own luggage and catching up to the slightly younger man.
"Seriously, Kishan, you can lighten up. You acted the same way when we moved to that city and you warmed up to it in no time. Just give a chance," he said, attempting to charm Kishan with his brotherly side.
"Are you kidding me, Ren? The least you could have done was mention it. The lowest thing a man can do is deceive someone and expect everything to go as you plan," hissed the seething younger sibling. Dhiren stopped and dropped his luggage, grasping Kishan on the shoulder to pause him.
Kishan would take none of it, dropping his own bags uselessly on the ground and rounding on the brunette. "Quit having such a temper tantrum, Kishan. You aren't a child anymore."
"And quit running our lives like a kingdom. We don't live by a strict set of rules. If I want to be angry with a decision I had no say in, I believe I have the right to be unreasonable."
"You were always the rebel, Kishan."
"And you are the pampered, charming man of the people. Please excuse my attitude, good sir."

Vibrations of a silver cell phone kept ringing, wasting all Vællin's efforts to ignore everything but her book. Incapable of keeping focus after the persistent distraction kept harassing her for attention, she slid her headphones to her nape then answered the call. Crossed at being interrupted, her voice pitched high from her usual lilting rasp. "What. What more can you possibly want from me? I'm already trapped here with you, isn't that enough?"
Evey's voice scoffed scornfully into her ear, clearly displeased at the cold greeting. Somehow that only made the receiving end all the angrier, shocker. As if nothing happened, Evey continued on- not missing a beat. "Don't get your panties in a bunch. I'm only letting you know there's a mandatory orientation for all the participants. Which means you have to come and mingle."
And she wasn't told of this until now? Yup, that sounded like her sister. Vællin glared out the window- stupid sunlight, stupid breeze, stupid paradise. Grumbling, the girl pinched the bridge of her nose and hung her head in thin patience as she stressed on. "Where?"
"In some conference room I can't find, even after all my exploring. Come down and help me search. Oh, could you bring me my towel too? I wore my bathing suit under my clothes and went for a swim but forgot a towel."
"Why should I?"
"Because I'm the older sibling and by natural order- you are compelled to listen to me."
After a pause, it was clear that was the extent of her reasoning. Vællin was growing tired at this point. Prompting for a better cause, she urged questioningly. "And,"
"I'll leave you alone for the rest of the weekend. Now get off your butt and get a move on."
That's the ticket. Vællin stood from the bed to get her shoes. "Fine, meet me in the lobby by the elevators. Be there in five minutes." Cell and room key in pocket, she went to the joint bathroom for a towel with the slight temptation to rub it on the toilet before leaving. Headphones replaced back to her ears, music soothed away the aggravation her sister brought on. She trudged to the staircase, uncomfortable at the idea of sharing the elevator with strangers.
Okay, maybe going down a dozen flights of steps wasn't the greatest choice. Vællin combed away the matted hair on her face and tied it into an untidy bun after reaching the lobby floor. Looking gross and flushed in a swarm of people, what an accomplishment.
"Took you long enough. Thanks for the towel." Feeling the towel wrestled out of her grip, a whip of clothed pressure smacked the girl's thigh. Evey grinned at her distraught sibling as she towel-dried herself. Molten eyes flashed in exasperation, intaking her sister's dripping appearance. "You're welcome. Where did your clothes from before go?"
"They're in my tote, I'm not making them stinky with chlorine. They're brand new. Here's the directory, your turn to find the conference room." Evey slapped the scrap of paper into her sister's hand; subsequently ringing the water from long, jade tresses while Vællin studied the map. "Oh joy of joys. You could just ask someone who, you know, actually works here."
Wrapping the towel around her figure, Evey gave a disapproving purse of her lips at the suggestion. "That's no fun. We got time to kill and a map, we can do it ourselves. Stop complaining and join in on the adventure woman." Seeing no point in wasting time on arguing, she pressed the floor button after realizing they were on the wrong level. The sooner they found it, the sooner she could return to her room.

The brothers picked their room easily, taking one of the roomy ones in order to have space from each other. With attitudes like their current ones, they were very much like tigers themselves, ready to tussle and rip fur from each other. Kishan practically threw his things on his side, whereas Ren neatly put his things in particular places. Before Kishan could flop on the bed uselessly, he noticed a piece of parchment taped to the back of the door.
Snatching it off of the door, he read it briefly before letting it flutter to the ground. He was annoyed as it was, now there was a mandatory meeting? Worst day ever.
"We have to go to some meeting. Like some pre-show crap. I bet their gonna have rules. Like no physical fighting or even sex," grumbled the man.
"Impossible. Why would it be a reality show if you can't do things you would in real life? That's the point. They'll probably say there's a limit they can record and they'll edit things and all that legal stuff," Ren replied casually. After putting his clothes away, he took the sketchy map of the floors and studied it for a few seconds before tossing it back on the desk. "First floor, seventh door down the left hand hall, on the right, I think. Could make the map a little better, don't you think?" The two brothers exited the room with their minor bickering, all the way to the elevators.
"I still don't understand why you have to go this far," gritted Kishan as he pushed the down button. "For all you know, somebody here might actually recognize us and blow this whole thing. At least taking care of tigers was low key."
"We've been low enough for a year or two now. We'll be fine." The doors opened before them and they began to step on the elevator, glaring at each other. It wasn't until they both finally looked forward that they realized the mobile room wasn't empty. Kishan wore his glowering attitude obviously without glancing back at them.
Ren flashed them a lazy grin. "I take it you're part of the show, too?"

Nose deep in the contract folder, Evey's face twisted and wrinkled at every line on the papers. Was reading really that difficult or was her brain the middle of a meltdown, her twin mused at the thought. Grateful her own earphones were enough to block out the god-awful elevator music, Vællin kept to her corner in the lift to savor her music in peace as long as she was given. Which was cut short when her sister started on another rant.
"It says there are certain hours and rooms that won't be recorded for privacy rights and breaks. But according to this, they're allowed to use any footage recorded in their editing. Shit, I should've read that waiver more carefully. What if they catch me doing something embarrassing?"
Evey's distress made taunting all too irresistible to go ignored. Brow arched at her twin, Vællin tilted her head in feigned ignorance. "How's that any different from normal?"
No patience left for insults, she shot her a dirty look. Not threatening enough to wipe away the smug content in her sister's eyes, Evey sneered. Now she decides to be playful, how convenient. "Shut. It. Seriously, this is going to be viewed nationwide. One wrong move and I can be branded as the bitch of the cast or something."
Honestly, thinking through things was not her forte. Vællin scoffed, "Yeah. Makes one think twice about joining a reality show, doesn't it?" Eyes stilled on the flashing floor meter in new exasperation. They were about to stop for new loading guests. Wonderful.
Clearly sidetracked on more trivial matters, Evey threw her hands in the air in frustration then quickly latched back onto her slipping towel. "Really V. There's no talking to you."
Saved from retorting, the doors opened to a handsome pair who were engaged in their own glare match. Vællin met her sister's gaze and backed furthermost away in the small area at her twin's side. After one turned his attention to them, she turned up her music then hid behind the unfolded directory in hand. Let her chatterbox of a sister deal with the pleasantries, she wasn't there to make friends. Not withholding a peek to the brooding one of the duo, she smirked to herself. Looks like she wasn't the only one unhappy about being here.
Not missing the opportunity to talk with a cute guy, Evey met his smile with one of her own. "Yeah, we're part of the cast. I'm Evey and this is my sister Vællin, we were just on our way to find the room for the orientation. How about you two?"

Ren made a sidelong glance at his brooding brother. He resembled the disgruntled, old tiger they had back at the zoo. The thought itself made Ren chuckle. As the doors closed and they resumed their ride downward, he moved his auburn eyes back to the social butterfly. There was going to be no mistaking the two for two reasons: their opposite behaviors and their hair length.
"Dhiren, but you can call me Ren. That guy over there is my brother, Kishan. He's usually sour, but he's harmless," he told her, earning a burning glare from said brother. "On that note, I suppose we're going to the same place."
Ren looked Evey over once again, unable to miss the fact she had obviously come from the swimming pool. He figured they were lucky recording didn't start until tomorrow, probably. In fact, he wouldn't doubt if there had been candid cameras recording their arrivals just for the show. A sigh escaped him at the thought, simply because his brother was obviously uninterested in the life of normal people. They dreamed of being on television, so why would anyone expect runaway princes to appear on a show like this willingly?
"I can't help but wonder when they're going to make us record the intro of the show," he mused aloud. Kishan stayed silent as he leaned against the wall. He was supposed to be a people person, but he knew the reason why his social life failed to flourish was because of the pressure and annoyance they had been raised around. He was definitely not going to live the rest of his life pleasing people.

Airless tittering bubbled from the eldest twin over the bond shared between the brothers. Evey did her best to hide her smile behind a palm while her other hand held up her towel at her axilla. It was stifled at the sight of Kishan's glare out of politeness, covering up the slight in pretense of putting away papers into her tote. Their relationship seemed similar to her own with Vællin.
Feeling relieved after meeting someone out of the unannounced cast, she thanked her lucky stars it was them. Details of the show were bafflingly restricted in the documents given; at one point, Evey even debated bringing her sister into the suspicious game. Now she felt reassured the situation wasn't entire loss.
"Prince Charming, isn't he? Unfortunately, my dear sister isn't any better. Getting her to talk to anyone is a miracle." She fussed lightly, reaching to pat a hand on her sibling's shoulder. Dodging the touch, Vællin ducked from her reach, slapping the folded pamphlet at Evey's outstretched hand. Dissatisfied by her reaction, Evey crossed her arms in petulance.
Diverted by Ren's insight, she instantly forgot her sister's rude apathy. "I'm nervous at the idea of my every action being recorded; I don't think I'm up for openings too." Already mulling over the idea, her imagination went into overdrive. Being in front of crowds never fazed her; in all actuality, filming sounded entertaining. But reading from a script was one thing, being yourself on camera under public eye was another.
On the other hand, Vællin would sooner dive off a skyscraper than be involved in the show's intro. New problem at hand, Evey frowned at the floor meter. The elevator was already reaching their destination. Spared from fretting, the doors to the lift opened moments later. Freed, her twin raced out of the enclosed quarters into the hall. Evey shook her head in pursuit of her fleeing sister, smiling. "Guess we'll be seeing each other around from here on in."

Ren couldn't help but smirk at her choice of words. If only she knew how close they struck to home. And he knew Kishan was listening because his shoulders stiffened at the word. Like a trapped animal, more like it, he thought. "Princely, indeed..." muttered Ren in response. He watched the small display unfold as Evey talked about her sister and couldn't help but admit she was a lot like Kishan. But instead of feeling pity like he did for his brother, Ren could only think that maybe the show would be of more help to her down the line.
"If anything, hope that it's like the other shows. All you have to do is stand and pose for a few seconds so the viewers can tell who is who when they edit it later. Very basic, I think." As soon as the doors opened, he saw Vaellin make a made dash between them for solid ground. Kishan wasn't far behind, seeing as he nearly leaped through the small crevice when it first began to open. Ren rolled his eyes as he stepped off of the elevator and began walking down the hall. He had easily memorized the room. "Definitely," he said simply as he glanced down at her. He then looked at his brother, who was a good few paces ahead. "The seventh door, Kishan. On the right, not left."

"Crap. Vae, wait! You have the map." The eldest twin near shouted in the hall when her sister deserted her. Did she even realize where she was going without her, the woman feared. Unable to stop her sister going for a hundred meter dash down the corridor with Prince Charming at her heels, Evey was without guidance. Ren's voice broke her free of any worries, announcing the room they were all destined to. Thank you Buddha and Donkey Kong. She praised internally, briskly plodding to catch him in the passageway. Were all the conference rooms this big? Tailing someone in a beach towel and flip flops could've been an Olympic sport; as if being restricted in a towel wasn't enough, it was difficult to quietly jog in the never-ending hallway as well. Evey gradually caught up to the man, her fingers grabbed for the back of his shirt gently enough to tug the material for his attention. "Sorry, but could you show me the way? My sister ditched me, along with the only directory we had." She pleaded hopefully, her sister was already gone from eyesight at this rate. ------------------------------------------------------- ♪ This world is gonna burn, burn burn burn As long as we're going down, Baby you should stick around Baby you should stick around♫ Did sense of direction not run in their family or something? Almost positive she followed the right course, she retraced the doors she passed with her fingertips skimming the walls as they were counted. There were only twelve doors per side in this hallway alone, beyond that was a breakroom lounge at the dead-end. Referencing the map, it was one of the doors on the right. The woman shot off prematurely from the elevator and missed it completely in her haste. Great. Being in lost in a hotel was my idea of the perfect summer, how did you possibly know Evey? ♬If we're gonna die, bury us alive If they're searching for us they'll find us side by side That's my, that's my man♩ Internal dissension started to make Vællin waver. Would missing orientation be all that bad? She wasn't here to take this seriously and if she was reprimanded for ditching, there was no loss really. A fault-free solution where Evey couldn't rightfully blame her was at hand. The idea of a slap to the wrist then happily sent back home was more heartening than being on a show full of strangers. After their first run-in with those brothers, the woman wasn't sure she had it in her for another cast meeting. Deciding to leave things to fate, Vællin stopped searching and rested her back on a door uncaringly. No point in searching, she decided. She rolled her head upward to stare at the ceiling, content to listening to her music than of exerting effort into something she cared nothing for. ♫The earth breaks, it falls and set your beat I'd find myself swallowed, drowning in your heat As long as we're going down, Baby you should stick around Baby you should stick around♬

Ren watched his brother disappear down the corridor in a pace he didn't think a person could walk. With a sigh, he shook his head disappointedly. How could one want to live a normal life but not do what normal people would dream of? Then again, they were born into something that normal people would dream of; money, fame and royalty. And they were willing to throw it away without a care just to have what everyone else wanted to run away from.
Broken from his thoughts with a soft tug to his shirt, Dhiren stopped and looked behind him. His eyes fell on Evey, realizing that she had been ditched by her sister faster than Kishan had left him. A warm smile appeared on his face, enjoying that he was the one to help a person. He'd always felt a little jealousy toward his staff when he was younger, feeling utterly useless as a prince.
So when he reached a hand behind her back, edging her in front so she wouldn't fall behind again, he began to feel a little more less like a prince and more like a normal man. "Not a problem. Seems my brother decided to check out early, too. Only I'm not too sure he knows exactly where he's going..."
And Ren was right. Kishan had completely ignored his brother besides the bickering. He didn't care nor did he intend to listen to his brother in this place. So what if he didn't enjoy the small things in life? He wasn't his brother. He'd rather much enjoy the simple life they already found, where they knew no one recognized them.
Just as he rounded the corner, his eyes picked up on a pair of feet a little ways ahead. Glancing up, he recognized her as one of the girls in the elevator, the one who was just as dramatically thrilled as he was about being here. Kishan kept his distance, leaning against a wall as he decided to take a chance on this one's possible wrath.
"So have you thought of a way out yet?" he asked seriously. He hadn't had the time to study the place for a way to escape. It was one problem their parents had, and one reason why Ren always called him a rebel. He disappeared a lot when he was younger, running away in a sense. But he could never get far, seeing as their were bodyguards everywhere. But here, he was nobody for a while.
